A biblical reset for Christian women longing to feel close to God again

Introduction: You Love God, But You Feel Disconnected
You’re still praying…
You still believe…
But lately, something just feels off.
Maybe your bible reading feels dry.
Your schedule feels too full.
Or your heart feels too heavy to even try.
You’re not alone.
In fact, one of the biggest lies the enemy whispers to faith-filled women is:
“If you were really close to God, you wouldn’t feel like this.”
But here’s the truth:
Feeling spiritually stuck doesn’t make you faithless.
It means you’re human.
And it’s a signal—it’s time to realign.
If you’re stuck, weary, distracted, or numb… this is where you begin again.
📖 “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

What Spiritual “Stuckness” Can Feel Like
- You haven’t opened your Bible in weeks—but you miss the closeness
- Your prayers feel repetitive or hollow
- You’re tired of going through the motions in church or ministry
- You feel disconnected from your purpose
- You’re overwhelmed, undernourished, and spiritually tired
You’re not bad. You’re not broken. You’re just ready for renewal.
Step 1: Stop Striving—Start Surrendering
You don’t have to earn your way back into God’s presence.
He never left you.
Start here:
- Whisper a simple prayer: “Lord, I feel far—but I want to be close.”
- Sit in silence for 3 minutes and let that be enough
- Open to a familiar Scripture (like Psalm 23 or John 15) and just read slowly
Surrender is not about having a plan. It’s about saying:
“God, You’re still welcome here—even in my mess.”

Step 2: Return to the Word, One Verse at a Time
Don’t try to dive into a complex study.
Don’t commit to an hour-long devotional routine.
Just start with:
- One verse a day
- A short guided Scripture prompt (try the [Start your day with God devotional)
- A planner with daily Scripture space like the [Abide & Align Planner]
Write it down. Repeat it aloud. Let it become your anchor—even when your heart doesn’t “feel” it yet.
📖 “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105
Step 3: Write/Say a Prayer You’ll Actually Mean
Not a perfect prayer.
Not a churchy prayer.
A real one. A raw one.
Try journaling:
- “Lord, here’s what I feel…”
- “Here’s what I miss about being close to You…”
- “Here’s what I need help with…”
God isn’t looking for performance.
He’s inviting you back to presence.

Step 4: Reset Your Rhythm (Not Just Your Routine)
Spiritual growth isn’t built on streaks.
It’s built on rhythms of surrender.
Here’s how I reset mine:
- Morning: One Scripture + one prayer
- Weekly: Sunday reset using the [Abide and Align Planner – Weekly Template]
- Monthly: Reflection pages inside my Abide & Align Planner
What matters most? Consistency in coming back—not perfection in doing more.

Final Thoughts: God Isn’t Asking You to Hustle—He’s Asking You to Come To Him
You don’t have to feel on fire to be faithful.
You don’t have to have perfect passion to return to prayer.
You don’t need to start over.
You just need to start here.
“Return to Me, and I will return to you…” – Malachi 3:7
